I’ll try a lot of different things and am always looking for new tools to pick up in order to game success in my favor. I have a Commit-Action accountability coach that I work with each week to hit targets leading to my goals. For more information, go to https://www.commitaction.com/
With that coach, I do a yearend review, year-ahead planning process. One of the things I ran through was their visualization process – visualizing from the future success event, in my case, through-hiking the Tahoe Rim Trail, stepping backwards through its completion to the current day. I pre-lived in reverse all the things I needed to do to hit that target.
As a result of going through a process like that, hiking those 173 miles feels so much more do-able. I just keep racking up tiny wins in my favor, moving one baby step closer to doing what I’ve set out to do.
