Vivie needed some new shoes – the old ones were, well, OLD! And, not as grippy on the road surface as I would like, given all the freshly fallen wet leaves on the roads.
(Sidenote: I learned how to figure out what size tire to order – David showed me where to look on the old tires to find the correct number – babysteps, always babysteps!)
Gotta love the internet!! Delivered right to my door!

Sometimes, when everything you’re doing is new, it’s best to get a little help getting over some of the one-off hurdles, when possible. I leaned on David to find a shop that would mount the new tires on the bike for me. He rode her to the shop, and I followed. The guys there got the work done and we came back for her.
And, even though David helped me get the whole thing worked out, it actually helped me make progress. I had walked into a shop, talked to the folks there, knew I’d found a place I could get help with my bike even after David inevitably would head out of town again, leaving me to fend for myself. I knew I wouldn’t get stopped out for lack of a mechanic now.
Stretch: Feeling the need to ask for help in find a bike shop to get the work done on my bike.
Lessons: It’s ok to ask for help from time to time in order to get yourself over a hurdle, so long as the objective is to keep yourself moving along, progressing towards your goals. Any win is a win!
