Motorcycle Riding, Breezy

Today I got the unexpected opportunity to take one last quickie ride before the Ohio weather took a decidedly wintery turn. Evvie and I scooted around back country roads, trying to find some cover from the incoming storm front, but there was none to be found in the virtually treeless midwestern wilds.

We were buffeted from every side by gusts of wind as we slid past oncoming grain trucks (terrifying!!).  We rode at a cant for miles, until I was worn from the effort of attempting to ride and kind of a line, and the mental exertion from all the new stressors.

What I love about this approach to learning is how easily new challenges are folded into the experience because of the gradual nature in which they are assimilated.  Experience just keeps accumulating – that’s why just putting time in is so important, especially in the early stages of learning something new.
